Tangy, zesty steak and peppers

This was one of the more unusual recipes we received. Nikki's Green Pepper BBQ Cube Steak is delightful. I would have never considered mixing BBQ sauce and milk, but it works.

Green Pepper BBQ Cube Steak
Grass Fed and Healthy Cube Steak Recipe Contest 4th Place.
Name: Green Pepper BBQ Cube Steak
Description: A tasty treat Nikki's tangy Bell Pepper Cube Steak recipe is simple but delicious.
Ingredients:
  • 2 Pounds Cube Steak
  • 1/2 Cup BBQ Sauce
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 2 Teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 Green bell pepper, julienne
  • 1 Cup onion, sliced
Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F
  • Combine everything in roasting pan
  • cover with lid or foil and braise for 25 - 30 minutes*
  • Serve over rice


*Whether it was high altitude or differences in oven temperatures, we had to braise ours longer for it to be done. (CHM)
