Warmest greetings from McNeil Ranch and Diamond F Brand Beef! It's finally spring at the McNeil Ranch! Water is flowing in the ditches, the meadows are greening up, and most of the cows have calved.

 

You can see the vibrant, rambunctious calves running, bucking, and playing in the meadow when you drive by on Highway 15 in the evening.

Whoops! We gave the wrong instructions to the processor and ended up with Sirloin Steak packages that were larger than our customers are used to. The packages average 2 pounds Grass fed Sirloin Steak / package, but of course actual weights will vary.

Last chance for Rib Eye Steaks

We are running low on Rib Eye Steaks and expect to be completely out in the next few weeks.

 

So far we have already run out of T-Bone Steaks, Porterhouse Steaks, Stew Meat, and Sirloin Tip Roast.

 

Three full months of green grass for optimum health benefits

We want to make sure that our grass fed beef provides the optimum in health benefits, which is why we never process before late July or August at the very earliest so that all the steers have had a minimum of a full three months on green, growing grass. Therefore, when we run out of certain cuts they're just not available again until late summer or early fall.

 

New York Strip Steaks and Filet Mignon

We still have plenty of new York Strip Steaks, and surprisingly we also still have a few Filet Mignon left as well. (Usually we run out of Filet Mignon by this time of year because they are in such limited supply). I guess with the economy in bad shape people just aren't buying the most expensive cut of beef as often.

 

Our stimulus package for your taste buds and your health 

Because the Filet Mignon are moving more slowly than normal we are marking them down to our wholesale price of $18.00 / pound. I guarantee you won't find all natural, grass fed beef Filet Mignon for that price anywhere else. The average weight of a filet mignon steak is approximately .70 pounds, but actual weight will vary. We had so much fun that we are having another contest, but this time it's a recipe contest!

The next contest is for recipes on how best to fix cube steaks. (Remember them)? Since the U.S. economic downturn the "Cube Steak has made a comeback and is far outselling all the other cuts of beef nationwide.

Cube Steak is nothing more than mechanically tenderized Top Round Steak, and the name comes from the cube shaped cuts made by the tenderizer.
