Holiday Open House
We are busy planning our annual Holiday Open House. This year's is scheduled for Friday, December 12, 2008, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. We'll be serving roast beef, baguettes, tamales, burritos, fresh vegetables and dip, wine, coffee, and much more! Mark your calendar now!

Last year we had a great turn out with our family, friends, and customers having a wonderful time and winning lots of door prizes from our drawings, which included packages of tamales, burritos, steaks, hamburger, and ranch photos. This year we will be offering one of our elegant and exquisite whole tenderloins as the grand prize.

Special offer: lowest prices ever on grass fed beef!
In 2006, we had a freezer emergency that required us to place all of our beef in one of our two walk in freezers. Because it had to be done quickly, we were unable to rotate the stock. Because of that we ended up having some meat that was located far in the back of the freezer and subsequently covered by newer meat.

In rearranging the freezers to accommodate our new crop of beef, we uncovered the older meat that had been previously hidden.

While the meat we uncovered is two years old, it is in great shape, with no trace of freezer burn, thanks to the miracle of vacuum sealing and good freezer wrap. This past weekend we served one of the 2006 tenderloins at a birthday party and the guests absolutely raved about the meat, gobbling it up with relish, leaving nothing for leftovers.

The USDA says it improves quality through "freezer aging"
In fact, the USDA maintains that if properly wrapped and protected (vacuum sealed or adequately freezer wrapped) the meat can stay good for many years, and undergoes what they call "freezer aging", which enhances the tenderness of the meat, without diminishing the quality.

However, because it is two years old, we don't feel we can ethically sell it at our normal prices, so we are offering a huge discount on this older meat, making grass fed beef more affordable than ever. You will get a greatly reduced price, with absolutely no reduction in quality!

  • Whole tenderloin: The crème de la crème of beef, we normally charge $22 / pound for whole tenderloin, but for these 2006 tenderloins we are only charging $14 / pound. Make your holiday meals the most elegant you have ever served. Each tenderloin weighs approximately 4.3 pounds and easily serves 8 - 12 people. We will include our special tenderloin cooking instructions with each purchase.

  • Premium Steaks: We have a number of different premium cuts of steak that are vacuum sealed, including: Sirloin Steaks, Chuck Steaks, and Sirloin Tip Steaks. All premium steaks are priced at $4.00 / pound.

  • Round Steaks: All 2006 round steaks are being offered at $2.50 / pound.

  • Hamburger Patties: Our pre-made patties make it so easy! These are white wrapped in freezer paper, but are still wonderful, with no trace of freezer burn. These 1/3 pound patties are in packages of 12 patties per pack, and we are offering them for the low price of $0.50 / patty, or $6.00 / package, which translates to only $1.50 / pound.

  • Family Hamburger: For those serving large numbers, our 5 pound tubes of hamburger are very affordable, even at our usual price, but you can get our 2006 family hamburger for only $1.45 / pound.

  • Roasts: We have a number of roasts, ranging in size from 3 pounds to 10 pounds, including; Chuck Roast, Arm Roasts, Rump Roasts, Brisket, and Pikes Peak Roasts. We even have some 8 - 10 pound Standing Rib Roasts. All 2006 roasts will be sold for $2.50 / pound. The larger roasts are white wrapped, but still in perfectly good shape.

For our out of town friends shipping will be extra (except for members of Grass Fed and Healthy who receive complimentary shipping). New office hours!
To make it more convenient for our customers, and because we continue to get more and more drop in customers, we have expanded our office hours to 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday through the Holidays and the end of the year.

Announcing our new weight loss program!
As many of you know, both Mike and I have lost over 100 pounds between us, with me keeping it off for over 5 years now, and Mike has kept his off for 2 years. Not only that, our former employee, Anna, lost over 40 pounds on our program.

A number of people have asked us to develop our system into a replicable program, and we have responded to that request. We will begin the program for our web site members, but then plan on publishing the program in the form of a book, and will use the feedback, suggestions, and comments we receive from our participating members to refine the program for the book.
