Quick and easy steak marinades

Make steaks tender and delicious!

Marinating the tougher cuts of steak such as round steak can save you a lot of money and yet satisfy the whole family.

Below we've listed some of our favorite marinades:


Here is our very basic oil and vinegar marinade. You can create unlimited variations and adaptations of this recipe with different vinegars, herbs, and wine:

Basic oil and vinegar marinade
For the toughest cut of meat.
Name: Basic oil and vinegar marinade
Description: Our easiest and most basic steak marinade
Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup Red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 Cup Olive oil
  • 2 Cloves garlic, chopped extra fine
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
  • Combine all ingredients in a flat glass or ceramic container
  • Lay Mechanically Tenderized Round Steak in marinade making sure both sides of steak are completely coated
  • Let steak marinate for at least an hour, but it's even better for 24 hours in the refrigerator
  • Grill or pan fry steaks until done

If you love Mexican food like we do, you'll enjoy this easy fajita marinade. Fajitas are a good way to make your steaks go far and feed a lot of people.

Fajita Marinade
A Mexican food favorite.
Name: Fajita Marinade
Description: Fajitas are a popular Mexican dish. The longer the steak is marinated, the better the fajitas will be.
Ingredients:

  • Juice from 6 squeezed limes
  • 1/4 C Olive oil
  • 3 Cloves garlic minced
  • 1 Tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 C Red wine
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:

  • Mix all ingredients
  • Place Round Steak and marinade in glass pan making sure meat is coated
  • Let marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably 4 or more
  • Grill or sautee marinated steak
  • Roll into tortilla with roasted green chiles, cooked peppers, cooked tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream, and Salsa Fresca or Pico de Gallo

Marinate the whole Round Steak or cut into strips and marinate for fajitas

This marinade turns up the heat a little bit with ginger root and lime zest

Spicy lime and ginger marinade
Inspired by the love of ginger root.
Name: Spicy lime and ginger marinade
Description: Give your meal a kick with this spicy and zesty lime and ginger marinade
Ingredients:

  • Juice of 6 squeezed fresh limes
  • 1 Tsp. Lime zest
  • 1/4 C Olive oil
  • 1/2 C finely chopped ginger root
  • 2 Cloves finely chopped garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:

  • Mix all ingredients
  • Place Diamond F Brand Beef Round Steak in a glass pan
  • Coat both sides of steak with marinade
  • Let marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably 4 our more
  • Even better, let marinate in refrigerator for 24 hours
