Providing rural economic development

All of our southwestern products are produced for us by The Tamale Connection, in Antonito, CO, located about 45 miles from our ranch. Antonito is a low-income, rural community, and the manufacture of our tamales and burritos contributes to the local economy and creates employment opportunities.

From little road side tamale stand to thriving enterprise

Our partners in the tamale and burrito venture are Wayne and Leisa Garcia, from Antonito. The Tamale Connection, their family business, began as a little road-side tamale stand at a gas station, and has grown to a thriving enterprise.

The Tamale Connection is a USDA-inspected commercial kitchen that makes and markets their own tamales, burritos, casseroles, and other products, but also creates our fabulous tamales and burritos for us, under our Diamond F Brand Beef private label, using our grass fed beef. It is a great business arrangement and we love the tamales and burrito they make for us. We eat them all the time.

The masa in our tamales is now made from rice flour, and so now they contain no GMO corn flour or gluten, which is great news for those who have gluten sensitivity.
