Our Community Involvement
We want to build a relationship of trust with all of our customers. On this site we actively encourage you to become in touch with the production of the food you consume. One way to do that is to get to know a little about the producers you buy from and what they stand for. Because we want your trust, and to provide you with a tangible way to learn about us and our operation, this article is to give you a closer look at us personally and our involvement with our community.
Cathy's focus is primarily on land and water conservation. She is currently
Board Secretary of the Rio Grande Headwaters Land Trust, and in 2008 was term limited off of the Rio Grande Conservation District, on which she served for 10 years, and was President for the last 4 of those years. Other positions Cathy has formerly held include:
- Founding President: Rio Grande Headwaters Land Trust (RiGHT)
- Board Treasurer: Colorado Association of Conservation Districts
- Board President: Rio Grande Watershed Association of Conservation Districts
- Founding Secretary: Friends of the San Luis Valley National Wildlife Refuges
Mike's focus is more on youth and education, even though we no longer have children in school. Currently he serves as:
- Board Vice President: Monte Vista School District Board of Education
- Board Member: Colorado Youth Corps Association
- Board Member: Southwest Conservation Youth Corps
- Founding Board Member: Los Valles Youth Corps
- President: Rio Grande and Piedra Valley Ditch Company
We only tell you of this community involvement so that you can be assured that when you buy our grass fed beef, you can trust the honor and integrity of the people who produced it, and know that they are long standing, involved, and active community members.
