We take our stewardship responsibility very seriously

We are humbled to have received recognition and acknowledgement for our land stewardship in the form of numerous statewide and national conservation awards including:

  • 1999 Outstanding Conservationist From the Colorado Association of Soil Conservation Districts
  • 2001 Steward of the Land From American Farmland Trust, a $10,000 national award

  • 2001 National Wetlands Award From the Environmental Law Institute
  • 2005 Leopold Award From the Sand County Foundation, a $10,000 National award

While we are very proud of having won our awards, we are more proud of what we have done to earn them. We care deeply about our land, natural resources, and our community.

It is our firm belief that soil and water are the very building blocks and lifeblood of human civilization, and deserve our diligent care and stewardship.

Our ranch has supported our family, along with abundant wildlife, for generations, with the fourth, fifth, and sixth generations of the McNeil family currently living, working, or playing on the ranch.

We are very proud of that longevity even though it has more to do with the stewardship of the ancestors than us. Our hope is that the ranch can stay in the family for at least another six generations, and ideally many more.
